Course Overview

The Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) certification validates your knowledge of the Scrum framework, the Scrum Master accountabilities and how to apply Scrum. 

PSM I is recognized by the  industry as a certification that demonstrates a fundamental level of Scrum mastery. As a PSM I certification holder, you have proven that you understand Scrum as described in the Scrum Guide and how to apply Scrum in Scrum Teams. PSM I holders have a consistent terminology and approach to Scrum. 

While attendance is not a prerequisite, there are courses available to help you prepare for the test and gain a stronger understanding of Scrum. Depending on your role, either the Applying Professional Scrum or Professional Scrum Master course is highly recommended. 

PSM I includes questions from the following Focus Areas as defined in the Professional Scrum Competencies.

• Understanding and Applying the Scrum Framework: Empiricism, Scrum Values, Scrum Team, Events, Artifacts, Done
• Developing People and Teams: Self-Managing Teams, Facilitation, Coaching and Mentoring
• Managing Products with Agility: Forecasting & Release Planning, Product Value, Product Backlog Management, Stakeholders & Customers

The goal of this PSM course is to give attendees a thorough understanding of scrum. Participants will get a deep grasp of servant leadership from this training, enabling them to serve as Scrum Masters. It assists you in team leadership, clarifies your responsibilities as a Scrum Master, resolves issues, and improves scrum effectiveness.

People who have earned the (Professional Scrum Master I) certification will be able to demonstrate their comprehension, knowledge, and application of:

• The meaning and goal of Agile
• Scrum's three tenets are transparency, adaption, and scrutiny.
• The five values of Scrum are: dedication, concentration, openness, respect, and courage
• The traits of successful product owners, development teams, and scrum masters
• The objectives of various Scrum events, artifacts, and rules
• How multilevel planning can assist your team in setting long-term objectives and coming up with more practical plans to reach those objectives
• Understanding the characteristics of the product backlog and how it might change as your product and surroundings do
• The approaches to reducing technical debt
• The objective and procedures for Scrum activities such as product backlog grooming, sprint planning, execution, daily Scrum, review, and retrospective

Course Learning Objectives
